FastyBooky ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you use the FastyBooky app (our "App") and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide to Us

• Book Information: Titles, authors, page counts, and other metadata you enter about books you're reading
• Reading Session Data: Reading durations, page numbers, dates, and comments you provide
• Voice Comments: Audio recordings and transcriptions when you use the voice comment feature
• Tags and Categories: Tags you create to organize your books
• Profile Information: Names and avatars for creating multiple reading profiles (for family sharing on the same device)
• Wishlist Data: Books you want to read, including priority levels and notes

Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: Basic device information (device type, iOS version) required for iCloud synchronization, managed by Apple CloudKit

Sign in with Apple (Optional)

When you choose to sign in with Apple for multi-device synchronization:

• We receive your name and email address (which you may choose to hide)
• Apple manages this authentication securely
• We do NOT store your Apple ID password
• You can revoke access at any time from iOS Settings > Apple ID > Password & Security > Apps Using Apple ID

Information We Do NOT Collect

FastyBooky does NOT collect:

• Location data
• Contacts or calendar information
• Health or financial data
• Browsing or search history outside the app
• Device identifiers for tracking (IDFA, etc.)
• Analytics or usage tracking data
• Advertising data

We do NOT track you across apps or websites. FastyBooky contains zero advertising or tracking SDKs.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide the App's core functionality of tracking your reading progress
• Sync your data across your devices using Apple's CloudKit
• Improve and enhance the App's features
• Troubleshoot issues and provide technical support

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

Your reading data is primarily stored locally on your device using SwiftData, Apple's database framework.

CloudKit Synchronization

With your permission (through Apple's standard permission system), we use Apple's CloudKit to synchronize your data across your devices signed into the same Apple ID. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Services

Apple Inc. (iCloud CloudKit & Sign in with Apple)

• Purpose: Authentication and cross-device synchronization (optional)
• Data Shared: Your name, email (optional/hidden), and reading library (encrypted)
• Privacy Policy: apple.com/legal/privacy
• Control: You choose whether to sign in and enable sync

FastyBooky API (Our Backend Service)

• Purpose: Retrieve book metadata (title, author, cover image, community ratings)
• Data Shared: Book search queries (ISBN or title only)
• Control: Required for book search functionality

Google Books (Indirect Access)

• Purpose: Community book ratings (public information)
• Data Shared: None directly (our API queries Google Books on your behalf)
• Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Your data may be shared only as described above with Apple and our book metadata API.

Data Retention and Deletion

How Long We Keep Your Data

• Local Data: Stored on your device until you delete the app or manually delete your data
• iCloud Data: Stored in your iCloud account until you sign out, delete the app, or manually delete
• API Search Queries: Not logged or stored by our API

How to Delete Your Data

You can delete all your data at any time:

1. Open FastyBooky
2. Navigate to Settings > Import/Export
3. Tap "Delete All Data"
4. Confirm deletion

Note: This permanently deletes all your books, reading sessions, profiles, and personal data. This action cannot be undone.

Your Choices and Control

You can control your data in the following ways:

• CloudKit Synchronization: Manage through your device's iCloud settings
• Local Data: Delete books, reading sessions, or voice comments within the App
• Voice Recording Permission: Control microphone access through your device settings
• Camera Permission: Control camera access for ISBN scanning through your device settings

Children's Privacy

FastyBooky's multi-profile feature allows family members, including children, to create their own reading profiles on the same device.

• Parental Control: Parents control profile creation and data access
• COPPA Compliance: We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent
• Data Isolation: Each profile's reading data is separate and private

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child without proper consent, please contact us.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may update our privacy policy from time to time. The date of the latest revision will be indicated at the top of the privacy policy. It is your responsibility to check for updates.
